Review: Terry Gilliam has never found it easy to make one of his movies purely whimsical. Studio interference is almost invariably lead to project delays, postponements, cancellations and no coercion, using their final cut emerging bruised, bloody and - usually - crazy. Interestingly suffering Zero kit next to nothing to gossip that usually accompanies a Gilliam film. Instead, the dense, complex, thoughtful odyssey of human existence and the (un) happiness feel like pure Gilliam: quirky, sturdy, but - at best - about some not so magnificent brilliant. In distant, dystopian future sparkly light, brilliant and purposeful alone mathematician Qohen Leth (Christoph Waltz) is suffering through a small breach in everyday life. He's forced to leave the burned out church he calls home to report for work, where he crunches the numbers for her immediate supervisor clueless Joby (David Thewlis). But all he wants is to live near his phone, waiting for a call that he believes will help him solve the mystery of the universe and its mysterious head honcho existence. When Management (a silver haired Matt Damon) finally gives him while traveling to work from home, divided impossible Qohen Zero kit, a mathematical puzzle that defeated many mathematicians before him. To keep him from going completely around the bend, sending him Handling company in the form of Bainsley (M Lanie Thierry?), Can marry a girl whom he forges an unexpected emotional connection; and own genius teenage son Bob Management (Luke Hedges). If you are looking for a plot to be ineffective and developed logical way, Zero kit is not the movie for you. In Gilliam film, based on a loopy, clever script by Pat rushin, plot points usually are not metaphors for the human condition. Can also be literal and dull script: Qohen live in a hollowed-out church, a glaringly obvious symbol of the fading of traditional religion; hes waiting call - read: cold - to release him from the usual platitudes of a working bees that life. But also where the film genius. It is an explosion of philosophical ideas, ask deep, hard questions about happiness, humanity and hubris - often in the same scene. With films and filmmakers would dare so courageously confront existential issues this scale and depth to it. Annual Zero kit, after all, required Qohen to verify that everything is nothing: that the entire universe, full of people, ultimately unimportant. Qohens strange, insulated travel tips some answers, but not anywhere near all them.Gilliam could easily have failed two point: the somewhat stereotypical blonde love interest; and annoying precocious teenage boy. However, within the archetypes, Zero kit finds something fascinating to say. Bainsley begins as a ditzy blond dream girl, but wind up Qohen offers many souls and an elusive, transient nature of the infinite. Bob is also a whip smart joy, the children more in tune with the silent beats and rhythms of the universe than any number of people older and allegedly wiser than him.The film without fail catastrophically A hero can face the tragedy and comedy Qohen Leth - a character, always referring to himself using the royal we, are a metaphor for every person who ever been and ever will be. Vals is more than up to the task. He is hilariously effective when they have to wriggle into a skin-tight costume virtual reality, heartbreaking and devastating once it Qohen refused a chance to freedom and happiness to keep locked in the dark, nihilistic world in which he lived . There are also a couple of wonderful supporting turns - slightly larger than cameos - from Damon and Tilda Swinton. The former clearly enjoyed their time working on The Brothers Grimm, one of the most harmful experiences on set Gilliam, and here he gives ...
