| Review: John Favreaus pet project, after a decade of big budget, tough-on-special effects blockbusters and fantasy fair, is as charming as they come. The film follows chef (played by Favreau), which derailed careers and, as a last resort, he opened a food truck and drive around the country with his son and his sous-chef, John Leguizamo played a sold Cubano sandwiches. By the way, were treated with food-porn at its best and introduce an ensemble of characters that would make Woody Allen blush: Oliver Platt, Dustin Hoffman, Sofia Vergara, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansen, and a bunch of other famous faces.This is still far from Swingers - the film that started the plague that Vince Vaughn and manages to impress all the straight men in America - but the man knows how to make a light comedy with smart dialogue that does not feel frivolous. This is far from the indie / art-house, but Favreau was sincere when he said he had no desire to kinematic contribution, simply fell in love with the assumption had with him, and the result brought into the house. |
